General Information
What are cookies? A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain websites. Cookies allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s browsing habits or their device, and depending on the information they contain and how you use your device, they can be used to recognize the user.
Cookies allow the website to recognize the user’s browser. Therefore, cookies are generally used to remember the user’s choices (e.g., remembering the language used) or to recognize users who frequently visit the website. Users can modify or reject cookies. In the latter case, ARMATIS advises that the speed and quality of the service may decrease.
What types of cookies do we use?
The cookies used on THE WEBSITE can be classified according to the following criteria:
Types of cookies based on the entity that manages them:
- First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the requested service is provided.
- Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
If cookies are installed from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered first-party cookies.
Types of cookies based on the length of time they remain active:
- Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a website. They are usually used to store information that is only relevant for the provision of the requested service on a single occasion.
- Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a defined period by the party responsible for the cookie, ranging from a few minutes to several years.
Types of cookies based on their purpose:
- Technical cookies: These allow the user to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services available, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, remembering the elements of an order, completing the purchase process of an order, making a request for registration or participation in an event, using security elements during browsing, storing content for the broadcasting of videos or sound, or sharing content through social networks.
- Personalization cookies: These allow the user to access the service with some predefined general characteristics based on a series of criteria on the user’s device, such as language, type of browser used to access the service, regional configuration from which the service is accessed, etc.
- Analytical cookies: These allow the data controller to track and analyze the behavior of users on the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, applications, or platforms and to create navigation profiles of the users of these sites, applications, and platforms in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of usage data.
- Advertising cookies: These allow for the most efficient management of the advertising spaces included by the publisher on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the content edited or the frequency with which the ads are displayed.
- Behavioral advertising cookies: These allow for the most efficient management of the advertising spaces included by the publisher on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information on the behavior of users obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows for the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on this.
